The Lion's started with the better momentum with Bushey, Dye , Danny Jefferies and Burnage working well through the midfield but the Celtic defence managed to stop the efforts of Canning and Harvey. Page on the left had a chance go wide.
French, Farr and Adam Jefferies did well to keep Celtic out of the Lion's half for most of the first twenty minutes as the Lion's pushed for a goal.
The breakthrough came when the midfield threaded the ball into Harvey's feet with his back to goal. He flicked the ball over his shoulder on the turn beat another defender to go one on one with the keeper but hit the post. The ever aware Ian Canning pounce on the gift to slot home from close range.
Lion's should of capitalised further but let Celtic back into the game as the first half came to an end with a pass to the back post that for the forward to equalised.
After the Break, George Harrison replaced Gary Page. The Lion's again tried to push for the advantage but were caught short with a Celtic ball over the top for the forward to hit high over the advancing Gardner who tried to narrow the angle, to give Celtic the lead.
The Lion's had a strong resolve to get back into the game with two quick chances after the restart bringing saves from the Celtic keeper. The Lion's began to up the pressure with a succession of corners and free kicks. Burnage's delivery caused problems for Celtic but Lion's could not quite perfect the final touch. Mark Bushey and Danny Jefferies both fired shots just wide.
The equaliser finally came with a passing move from the right involving the Jefferies, Burnage and Harvey before Captain Dye played a sublime pass through the Celtic defence to the feet of Harrison, who found the top corner past the advancing keeper.
Michael ? and Mark Harris replaced Burnage and the hardworking Pete Farr as the Lion's made an effort to squeeze more points out of the game but ran out of time. The game ended in a draw but the Lion's felt they could of done better with their chances.
