Pig & Whistle 14 v 2 Lion's
Lion's starting nine! : French, Pearson, Jordan, Fildes, Harrison (C), D.Farr, I.Turkentine, Gardner, Burnage.
Todays Referee was Ben Gooray.
Today was the heaviest defeat in the Lion's history and also the first time fielding less that eleven players due to a long list injuries and other commitments. Usual goalkeeper Wayne Gardner had to play outfield due to breaking a couple fingers last week in goal. Graham French deputised in goal. Despite the number of well hit goals from Pig & Whistle, he also made a number of great saves.
Lion's actually took the lead in the first half when the Pig goalkeeper could not hold Turkentines well struck free kick and Adam Burnage made no mistake with the loose ball.
However Pig scored from the restart with a left wing cross that sailed in under the Lion's bar into the far top corner of the net.
Playing a 4-3-1 formation the Lion's were bound to struggle. Pig scored a total of 7 in the first half, one of which was a Penalty after Harrison had fouled in the area.
Breachwood tried to make it as difficult as possible for Pig score further in the second half, however they scored another 7 , but with most of them towards the end of the game.
Breachwood got a consolation goal when Lion's man of the match Andy Fildes clearence found Iaian Turkentine on the left. He was able to turn past a couple of Pig & Whistle defenders before beating the keeper from just inside the box.
Despite the 14-2 final score, Lion's had played with good spirit and every player giving 100%

An Andy Fildes throw in led to Adam Burnage scoring the consolation goal with a trademark shot from the edge of the area that dipped just under the bar.
Pete Jordan and John replace David Farr and Rob Pearson late in the second half.
Pin Green obviously deserved the win although the scoreline flattered them a little. Despite some promising moves ,the Lion's should of tested their keeper more.
Its been many years since a team has put eight past the Lion's
David Farr was the Lion's Manager's Man of the Match.

Times Club 2 v 5 Breachwood Lion's
Lion's Eleven: Jordan, French, S.Turkentine, Fildes, D.Dye(C), D.Jefferies, Pearson, A.Dye, D.Farr, Harrison, Burnage.

Breachwood started very well with excellent movement through midfield.
Danny Jefferies shot over the bar early on, whilst Rob Pearson got stuck in on the right wing.
Lion's came closer and closer with a succession of corners.
However it was Times Club that scored against the run of play with a speculative lob over goalkeeper Pete Jordan. Their lead doubled five minutes later when a low shot despite keeper Jprdan getting a hand to the ball.
For the rest of the half Lion's continued to push foward under the stewardship of Captain Dye, putting more and more pressure on the Time defence.
A shock looked on the cards at half time with Times Club having a two goal lead.
In the second half the Lion's were straight out of the gate looking for an early goal.
The breakthrough came with Danny Dye and Adam Burnage combining to put Danny Jefferies through, he managed to steer his shot inside the the right hand post into the net to start the fight back.
Moments later Breachwood rattled the Times crossbar.

Lion's continues to pile on the pressure as they looked for all three points, helped with a very effective back line, with S.Turkentine, French and Fildes keeping any Times attack at bay, leaving Jordan with little to do. Andy Dye was great intercepter on the right, whilst Pearson nearly gave Lion's the lead by cutting in from the left and shooting inches wide of the right hand post.
Danny Jefferies showed great individual skill weaving through several defenders in the penalty area out wide but his shot hit the post.
Centre Forward Adam Burnage moved out wide to pick up a pass, ran forward before unleashing a 20 yard shot into the Times net for a 3-2 lead.
Burnage turned provider again crossing in from the right, finding Harrison lurking inside the six yard box for a tap in to give the Lion's a two goal cushion.
Breachwood finalised all three points with Burnage, this time on the left crossing in for Harrison to complete a hatrick.
All in all a great win for the Lion's with a great team display showing the character to come back from two nil down.

Lion's Get Back To Winning Ways With 1 Nil Win Over Cooper's
Lion's starting eleven: Gardner, French, Jordan, P.Farr, Harrison, D.Jefferies, Fildes, Burnage, Weeks, Weeks, Canning, Marlow.
Kevin Currey was the referee for the Lion's last home game of the season in Division 1 against Coopers.
Breachwood started brightly with Andy Fildes playing a pivotal role in midfield that allowed Danny Jefferies to attack.
Jefferies threatened the Coopers defence with quick interlinking passes to Burnage and Canning, and by playing sweeping passes out to Michael Weeks on the right wing.
Marlow did well to hold the ball up front and playing in the Lion's midfield players
Most of Cooper's chances came early in the first half as the rejigged Lion's side took a little longer to settle defensively. Gardner was called on to make one key save.
Cooper's forwards were closed down early with help from midfield. Pete Jordan played with great anticipation and often turning defence into attack clearing the ball to Burnage and Marlow on the left wing.
Breachwood got the break they needed with a clever passing move started by Jefferies with Canning and Marlow resulting in a Burnage cross driven across the face of the Coopers goal that eluded everyone except Weeks arriving late from the right wing to hit the ball into the bottom left corner of the net to give the Lion's the lead.
In the second half, Breachwood were determined to keep their lead, French and Harrison helped to head clear a succession of corners from Coopers.
Jefferies switched the angle of attack this time to the left wing, allowing Burnage to pounce and score another top corner goal, only to be ruled offside.
Pete Farr surged out of defence to supply the perfect pass to Pearson who replaced the injured Weeks late in the second half. Pearson found Canning in an advance position for a shot at goal.
The Lion's forwards ensured the win in the last minute by playing keep ball by the Coopers corner flag.
The win was the Lion's first for several weeks and also the first time that they had beaten Coopers in recent seasons.
Pete Jordan was today's Managers Man of the Match.

Peartree 2 v 1 Lion's
Lions starting eleven: Gardner, Pearson, French, Fildes, Harrison, Dye(C), D.Jefferies, Page, Painter, Canning, P.Crisp
Mr Richardson was today's Referee away to Peartree at Peartree Park.
The pitch was surprisingly hard and the weather very windy which made it difficult for Lions to find their best passing play.
Danny Jefferies and Danny Dye had shots from range, whilst Ian Canning and Pete Crisp hassled the Peartree defence for loose balls in the difficult conditions.
Pearson and Painter combined a couple of times down the left feeding Ian Canning into advance positions up front who was narrowly caught offside.
It was a poorly cleared ball from the right that gave the Peartree midfield the space to put the forward into a shooting position to open the scoring.
Breachwood managed to tighten up after the goal but still went in one nil down at half time.
Breachwood began the second half with more determination with substitutes Pete Jordan and Adam Burnage. Lion's were unlucky not to equalise with a fierce shot from Burnage from inside the penalty area.
The Peartree defence were beaten from with a wonderful passing move involving Dye, Jefferies and Canning down the right with Burnage finishing the move with a trademark curling shot from range into the top right hand corner of the net.
The Lion's gained confidence from the equaliser and felt in ascendancy but were soon set back by a Peartree shot from the leftwing that was wind assisted into the top right hand corner of Gardners net, for 2-1.
Breachwood threw the kitchen sink forward in an effort to get back into the game again but in doing so left themselves a little exposed. Peartree were denied by a first class save from Gardner diving at full stretch to tip the ball onto the bar. French and Fildes assisted in other crucial clearances.
Despite the windy conditions it was a good competitive game but sadly Peartree went home with all the points.
A big thank you to our travelling supporters.

Lion's 1 v 5 Pig & Whistle
Lions starting eleven: Gardner, McCartney, Fildes, Marlow, P.Farr, Dye(C), Harrison, Burnage, Pearson, Canning, P.Crisp
Dave Hucker was the man in the middle for today's mud bath against Pig & Whistle.
Steve Mccartney made his debut in defence for the Lion's and had good game despite being tipped off that part of the initiation was that it would be his turn to wash the kit.
Breachwood started well but went behind after a quick counter attack down the right wing. The Pig & Whistle forward managed to get a touch on the cross to score past Gardner from close range.
Despite Pig hitting the post and another save from Gardner, most of the creative attacking play came from Breachwood, who went in at half time only a goal down but feeling very positive. Dye & Burnage had threaded balls through to Canning & Crisp in attempts to open the Pig defence. Burnage and Fildes had also had a couple of free kicks each.
At the start of the second half. David Farr replaced the injured Pete Farr.
Pearson was full of running down the left wing only for his crosses to be thwarted.
Not having played for two weeks and short of subs the Lion's legs grew weary as the Green became a battlefield of mud.
Despite Breachwood's defiant battling and a superb goal line clearence from Ben Marlow Pig scored 4 second half goals, all of which were virtually in the six yard box from the same player, one of which was a gift after a stray back pass into defence from Harrison.
Despite the shout for offside, Breachwood's consolation goal at 3 nil down came from an Andy Fildes free kick, Harrison's headed flick on fell into a goal mouth scramble for Crisp and Canning, amongst the Pig defence, but the ball popped back out to Harrison for a left foot shot into the far corner of the net.
Today's Manager's Man of the Match was Captain Danny Dye for the mudiest kit

Invitation Cup: Lion's 3 v 4 Hermit of Redcoats
Lion's starting eleven: Gardner, Fildes, French, P.Farr, Harrison, Dye(C), D.Jefferies, Weeks, Canning, Burnage, P.Crisp
Breachwood started this Invitation Cup game against Premier Division side Hermit of Redcoats with a goal advantage.
Breachwood started the game well taking the game to Hermit. However Hermit got breakaway counter attack after Lion's lost the ball in midfield and scored to level the tie.
Undeterred Lions pushed forward with a sense of determination. Captain Dye made the killer pass behind the defender for Burnage to run onto.
A composed Burnage curled a sweet shot over the advancing keeper into the top right corner of the net from just inside the box, for the Lion's to regain the lead in the tie.
Pete Farr, French & Fildes stern defending kept Hermit at bay for most of the first half. Gardner was also called upon to make a couple of critical saves.
Ian Canning almost scored as he managed to keep on his feet despite tackles on both sides on the edge of the penalty area. Unfortunately his shot was marginally wide of the goalpost.
Peter Crisp scored for the Lion's but was ruled offside.
Hermit scored their second just before half time.
The second half had all the ingredients of a classic cup match.
Captain Dye had another goal assist after Danny Jefferies weaved the ball to the edge of the Hermit box. Dye's pass into the feet of Peter Crisp meant he could score his first goal for the club from just outside the six yard box.
Hermit were straight back into the game with a headed goal from a corner.
Pearson replaced Weeks with equal strong running down the right wing.
Danny Dye and Danny Jefferies surged the Lions forward from midfield and bombarded the Hermit penalty area. Even Andy Fildes went on a high altitude run that was almost box to box.
Ali Collins replaced an injured Pete Crisp and made an instant impact. He could of had a hatrick inside twenty minutes with three gilt edged chances and a penalty claim turned down.
Harrison's header rebound off the crossbar from Burnages corner.
It was end to end stuff , Pete Farr kept the Lion's in the game when he cleared off the goal line with his head.
It was a true sucker punch when a Hermit striker scored their forth by beating the defender and slipping the ball inside the near post.
Ten Minutes before the end, Goalkeeper Gardner was sent off for verbal against the referee, so Pete Jordan took the Jersey by replacing Pete Farr.
Jordan made a couple of great saves, including tipping a fierce shot onto the crossbar.
The Tie ended 4-3 to Hermit but Lions felt that they had given a good account of themselves and reflected on the missed chances.

The First half was end to end with chances falling to Harrison and Canning up front, and with Gardner pulling off a couple of saves at the other end.
Lion's tried to beat Coopers who played a high up the pitch offside trap with Gardner's long rang kicking and with Burnage and Pete Farr looking for the space down the wings.
The Lions defensive unit of French, Fildes, Marlow and Jordan were determined to keep Coopers at bay and to spring counter attacks.
Nil nil at half time
In the second half Coopers took the lead from a corner before Lion's Captain Danny Dye pulled one back for the Lions after some trickery from Danny Jefferies.

Substitute Peter Crisp replaced Harrison
Coopers then took the lead again for 2-1 from another corner that fell to a Coopers play inside the Breachwood box.

Canning nearly scored at the end with a diving header at the far post but the game ended 2-1 to Coopers.

Lion's 2 v 4 Peartree
Lion's starting eleven: Gardner, Pearson,A.Jefferies, Fildes, French, Dye(C), D.Jefferies, Burnage, Weeks, Harrison, Canning
Today's game was against Peartree in the Quarter Final of Division 1 Cup but the first game for 6 weeks due to the weather.
Peartree scored two goals in quick succession midway in the 1st half that were almost identical. Left wing crosses found the striker at the far post to score from close range, it might of been three if not for a excellent save from Gardner pushing the ball round the post. And the again when Adam Jefferies clearence turned into a stunning own goal that clipped off the bar for a corner. French cleared to alleviate more Peartree pressure.
Breachwood fought back, after two successive corners from Michael Weeks, the second came back to Weeks and after a pass back from Dye put in a right wing cross that found Harrison six yards out to head home into the roof of the net.
Unfortunately Peartree pinched another just before half time after a goal mouth scamble. Danny Jefferies then hit the post from the edge of the box for Breachwood.
Lions applied more pressure with free kicks from Burnage & Fildes.
In the second half Fildes helped to bolster the midfield allowing Danny J to pull a few more strings as Lion's enjoyed a fifteen minute spell of putting Peartree under pressure.
Peartree got a gift of a fourth goal when the ball fell to the feet of their striker in the six yard box.
Ali Collins replaced Harrison and Jordan replaced the battling Pearson.
Collins got a second for the Lions after going through one on one with the Peartree keeper.
The game ended 4-2 to Peartree. After four successive years of being in their Divisional final, Breachwood wont be there this year.

Report from MBDA
As usual, there were plenty of goals on our visit to the huge pitch at Breachwood Green, at the end of the Luton Airport runway. Alex Lawrence was forced to pull out as he'd forgotten his contact lenses!...but it was still a very strong side to face the side in second-place. We started reasonably well, but conceded after only five minutes. Olly Rice received a short goal-kick from Ian Mann wide to the left, Rice was closed down and rolled the ball back centrally to Ray Downes, he took a touch and tried to pass out to Ade Barry, but got caught by quick-thinking forward Adam Burnage. He charged the ball down and just come out best in a challenge with Mann, the ball squirmed up into the air and he finished into an empty net. There were a few frustrations being voiced as we made plenty of chances but were still one down but on the half-hour mark until an unbelievable strike from Alex Burman from fully 30 yards was flying into the top corner, the 'keeper somehow stretched to touch it onto the bar but the rebound fell to Jamie Campany, he just got his body in the way and deflected it to Tom YOUNGER eight yards out, he> side-footed into the empty net and we were now more in control as half-time approached. Lots of talking at the break and we came out determined not to make any errors and everyone pulled together. Within five minutes, we were in front. Ade Barry took a corner which was cleared, Nigel Tingey picked up the loose ball and played it back to BARRY, who cut in from the left, beat his man and unleashed an unstoppable right-foot shot high into the 'keepers top left corner from all of thirty yards. We then had more chances to extend our lead but the through balls to Campany and Younger just seemed to carry to the 'keeper. We thought we would rue our missed chances when Breachwood equalised with twenty-five minutes to go, a move down the left saw Gav Bowler lose his man,Harrison and the square ball to tricky forward Danny Jefferies enabled him to shoot past the unsighted Mann from the edge of the box to restore parity. We really dug in and kept threatening and got the winner. A long-ball from Rice to Campany down the right was cut out and fell to Barry, his cross was weakly headed out by the defender who'd got in front of Younger. It fell to BOWLER, who controlled it and curled his shot into the 'keepers left corner. We then had two great breaks down the right wing to sew the game up but the final ball just failed to meet it's target. This week's comedy moment came from Downes, he chased his own through-ball to the strikers, then with no-one about, stumbled and lost the chance. It just looked like his batteries ran out! Then with only seconds left, Mann preserved the three points when he made a crucial stop at the feet of the big number ten as the ball ran loose in the area. Neither of the substitutes came on, but we'd like to thank them fortheir commitment. Upto fourth with plenty of games in hand on third-placed Breachwood, big cup games to come in January, it's looking rosy.
CAPTAIN GAV'S COMMENTS: "It was a really good game of football and Breachwood are a good footballing side, so we're well pleased to have gained the 3 points, we really stuck together in the 2nd half and our commitment was brilliant. Sorry for having a moan 1st half, just get frustrated as I know how well we can perform as a team. Let's keep it going in the New Year and make sure we progress in the two cups we've got coming up. Have a great Christmas."

giving them an early lead when he reacted quickly on a stray pass.
Tom Younger tapped in after the ball came off the crossbar to
