Herts Intermediate Cup: Baldock Engine 2 v 0 Lion's

Breachwood starting eleven: Gardner; S.Turkentine, Fildes, French, A.Jefferies, Dye(C), I.Turkentine, D.Jefferies, Pearson, Burnage, Harrison.

Within 20 minutes of the tie, Lion's went a goal down. Despite a valiant save from Gardner, a Baldock forward beat the Lion's defence to the loose ball to net from close range.

Pete Jordan came on as the Lion's looked to change their method of play.

Breachwood finished the half the stronger team. The Baldock Keeper kept Engine's lead by first turning Iain Turkentines header over the bar and then turning Harrison's header, from a Burnage corner, round the post.

The Lion's were one nil down at half time but were two nil down early in the second half after a Baldock counter attack.

Ben Marlow & John Histon replaced Pearson and the injured Danny Jefferies half way through the 2nd half to bolster the Lion's push.

Adam Jefferies and Andy Fildes pushed through midfield as Iain Turkentine and Danny Dye battled forward.

Burnage whipped in a couple of corners but Breachwood were unable to convert the chances.

A frustrated Breachwood finally ran out of time on the worlds most bumpy pitch!

Andy Fildes was the Managers Man of the match and was rewarded with kit cleaning.

Substitute not used: D.Farr

A big thank you to our travelling supporters including The Jefferies, Ash, Laura, Ken & Andy
