Aston Athletic 3 v 1 Lion's

Lion's starting eleven: Gardner, French, P.Farr, A.Jefferies, Harrison, Dye(C), Fildes, Burnage, Pearson, Canning, Marlow.

Batch was the referee for today's away game at Chells Park against Aston Athletic.

Breachwood started brightly with CaptDye and Ian Canning shooting from range. Lion's also tried to make the most of Gardners big goal kicks on the small pitch.

Aston scored on the counter attack when the forward managed to turn a Lion's defender and beat Gardner at the near post.

The Lion's midfield pushed up allowing the tricky Adam Burnage to fire off a couple of shots, whilst French defended the back line well when Aston tried to counter.

Lion's nearly equalised when Andy Fildes swirling free kick clipped the post.

Lion's trailed one nil at half time.

Midway through the second half and despite Breachwood's big push, Aston found the space to score two goals in quick succession.

Ben Marlow led the fight back with an energetic display all over the pitch ,then a quick one two between Pearson and Harrison nearly put Ian Canning in on goal.

Pete Crisp replaced the battling Pete Farr, Steve McCartney replaced the injured Harrison.

Breachwood scored a consolation goal when Adam Jefferies, surged forward from defence to let rip a 35 yard thunderbolt into the top right corner of the net.

The game finished 3-1 to Aston. A disappointing result following the display against Coopers last week.

Ben Marlow was the Managers Man of the Match
