Times Club 2 v 5 Breachwood Lion's

Lion's Eleven: Jordan, French, S.Turkentine, Fildes, D.Dye(C), D.Jefferies, Pearson, A.Dye, D.Farr, Harrison, Burnage.

Todays game was at King Georges against a new Times Club.

Breachwood started very well with excellent movement through midfield.
Danny Jefferies shot over the bar early on, whilst Rob Pearson got stuck in on the right wing.
Lion's came closer and closer with a succession of corners.

However it was Times Club that scored against the run of play with a speculative lob over goalkeeper Pete Jordan. Their lead doubled five minutes later when a low shot despite keeper Jprdan getting a hand to the ball.

For the rest of the half Lion's continued to push foward under the stewardship of Captain Dye, putting more and more pressure on the Time defence.

A shock looked on the cards at half time with Times Club having a two goal lead.

In the second half the Lion's were straight out of the gate looking for an early goal.

The breakthrough came with Danny Dye and Adam Burnage combining to put Danny Jefferies through, he managed to steer his shot inside the the right hand post into the net to start the fight back.

Moments later Breachwood rattled the Times crossbar.

The equaliser came with a Danny Jefferies pass just inside the Time half into the feet of Harrison, who was able to turn and fire a 20yard shot inside the near post.

Lion's continues to pile on the pressure as they looked for all three points, helped with a very effective back line, with S.Turkentine, French and Fildes keeping any Times attack at bay, leaving Jordan with little to do. Andy Dye was great intercepter on the right, whilst Pearson nearly gave Lion's the lead by cutting in from the left and shooting inches wide of the right hand post.

Danny Jefferies showed great individual skill weaving through several defenders in the penalty area out wide but his shot hit the post.

Centre Forward Adam Burnage moved out wide to pick up a pass, ran forward before unleashing a 20 yard shot into the Times net for a 3-2 lead.

Burnage turned provider again crossing in from the right, finding Harrison lurking inside the six yard box for a tap in to give the Lion's a two goal cushion.

Breachwood finalised all three points with Burnage, this time on the left crossing in for Harrison to complete a hatrick.

All in all a great win for the Lion's with a great team display showing the character to come back from two nil down.

Burnage was the Managers Man of the Match
