KLM Cup Peartree 0 v 1 Lion's



Lion's starting eleven: French, Fildes, I.Turkentine, Pearson, Weeks,Canning, Burnage, (Dye(C), D.Jefferies, Gardner, Fleckney
Referee for todays KLM Cup game against Peartree was D.Wisson.

Lion's started very well with a couple of excellent passing moves starting from the back line with Weeks and Pearson linking through to Dye & Jefferies in midfield and Canning and Burnage on the wings.

Within five minutes Gardner flicked on a cross into the path of Adam Burnage who drove into the box and rifled a right footed shot into the top corner of the net for one nil.
Peartree retaliated and came close by hitting the bar.
Goalkeeper GrahamFrench punched clear several Peartree crosses.
Breachwood's flowing attacking football continued whilst Fildes & Turkentine kept it simple at the back.

In the second half Harrison replaced Gardner.
Breachwood continued to surge forward looking for the elusive second goal.
Burnage put in a couple of excellent corners, one hitting the post.
Dye,Canning and Jefferies all had shots from range.

Fleckney cut inside the box turning the defender inside out before chippingthe goalkeeper, only to see the ball come back out off the far post.

The Cup tie finished in a tense fashion, but Breachwood held out to win one nil and to go through to the next round.
