Lion's 7 v 1 Times Club

Lion's starting eleven: French, Fildes, Turkentine, Pearson, A.Jefferies, D.Jefferies, Warren, Canning(C), Burnage, Gardner, Fleckney.

Referee for today's game against Times Club was I.Brown.

Lion's took the lead when Danny Jefferies slipped the ball through to the feet of Gardner. Gardner was able to hit the ball on the turn low into the corner of the net.

Midfielders Danny Jefferies, Burnage and Captain Canning found space to create several more chances. Jefferies came close with a shot from outside the box that came back off the crossbar.

Despite having the majority of possession, Lion's keeper Graham French had to come out quickly to stifle a few Time's counter attacks.

Breachwood led one nil at half time.

Jordan replaced the injured Burnage. Fildes and Turkentine were supreme in defence, keeping Times at bay for most of the second half.

Danny Jefferies finally found the net after pulling wide right and clipped the ball delicately over the Times keeper for goal number two.

Harrison replaced Gardner and scored after heading Fleckney's cross goalward and went in off the defender.

Canning & Harrison combined well, resulting in Harrison's shot hitting the post.

It was Jefferies who put the game out of reach with two more goals from close range.

Griffin replaced Warren
Adam Jefferies and Rob Pearson had linked well all game down the left wing. Pearson capped a great performance that Groggins could be proud of when he dribbled in from the left and hit a diagonal shot over the keeper into the far top corner.

Times managed to score a consolation goal from a late corner.

Danny Jefferies was the Managers Man of the Match
