Today's Invitation Cup game against Premier DC Outbar meant that the Lion's went into the game with a one goal advantage at Thomas Alleynes pitch.
Breachwood had to start on the defensive as DC Outbar pressed to erase Lion's advantage.
Their pressure paid off after the ball pinballed around the Lions six yard box before crossing the goal line for 1-1.
Lion's captain Danny Dye was able to join Burnage in attack as Breachwood tried to get back on top. David Farr and John Griffin gave extra support, battling in midfield as DC OutBar were quick on the counter attack.
DC Outbar tried to push their advantage but were thwarted by the sun tanned Pete Farr twice clearing the ball off the line.
The score was 1-1 at half time.
The Lion's were a little stretched when a long pass found a DC Outbar forward able to beat the Lion' s defence to slot home thier second goal.
Outbar we frustrated by a string of top drawer acrobatic saves from Lion's goalkeeper Graham French, keeping the Lion' s still with a chance in the game.
In the last half an hour the Lion's adjusted their formation to try and regain the momentum.
It nearly worked, with Burnage and Canning able to fire shots from the edge of the penalty box.
Harrison headed Burnage's corner inches wide.
Robbie Pearson, playing his first game since before Christmas , stepped up a gear on the left wing after linking well all game with the tireless Pete Jordan, Pearson turned the defender inside out before setting up Dye and then Canning for a chance on goal.
Burnage was able to beat the DC Outbar off side trap for a possible one on one with the keeper, but had his shirt cynically pulled back by the centre back.
Andy Fildes who had been the rock in the Breachwood defence floated in the free kick, which Harrison headed wide.
The game ended 2-1 to DC Outbar.
