Lion's starting eleven: French, Jordan, P.Farr, Fildes, Harrison, D.Dye(C), Burnage, Griffin, Canning, Weeks, B.Dye
The delay in this fixture due to the snow last week had not done the Lion's any favours, with key players missing and Iaian Turkentine having to pull out during the warm up, meant a restructure of the team sheet.
Breachwood were defending comfortably until Pete Jordan was deemed to of fouled a Piper player inside the box. The Ref pointed to the spot. Teale stepped up, but his left foot shot rattled back off Graham Frenchs cross bar.
Ten minutes later Piper took a short corner, the resulting shot deflected off Harrison's shoulder pass French to put Piper one nil up. Harrison had the Lion's best chance of the half heading a Burnage free kick marginally over the bar.
Piper led one nil at half time.
Early in the second half Ben Dye beat the off side trap and went one on one with the Piper keeper, but his shot went wide.
David Farr replaced the injured Ian Canning on the left wing.
Piper scored two quick goals, attacking with pace down the right wing and converting from close range from the resulting cross, one of which took a cruel deflection off Pete Farr.
With the tie slipping out of reach Breachwood had to go for it with Capt Dye pushing forward. David Farr tried to set Ben Dye up down the left chanel. Griffin and Weeks battled in midfield to let Burnage cause some damage. Burnage had a chance with shot that just rose over the crossbar.
The rock at the back Andy Fildes had the thankless task of organising defensive duties when Piper countered.
As Breachwood tired, Piper scorerd three more to go into the final but not before Breachwood scored a consolation goal late on from a deep Burnage free kick headed home by Harrison at the back post.
Pete Farr was the Managers Man of the Match
