Herts Junior Cup Round 2 Sandridge & Harvester Sports Reserves 0 v 5 Breachwood Lion's

Lions starting eleven: Gardner(C) Jordan, A.Jefferies, French, Hill, D.Dye, Pearson, Jeffery, Roberts, Mason, Harrison

The Lion made a good start with serveral chances in quick sucession, Harrison shot over he bar, both Mason and Pearson had effeorts that went wide.

But it wasnt long before Ollie Mason converted a through just inside the area under the advancing keeper.

Mason's second goal was similar, this time after a Beckhamesque through ball from Rob Pearson.

Breachwood's midfield passing was underpinned with a solid defensive display from the defenders. Adam Jefferies and Pete Jordan were able to link well with the wingers. Dan Dye and Rob Pearson worked hard at winning and distributing the ball in central midfield.

Despite being ahead Breachwood kept up the pressure.

Ricky Hill made a great run to the back post to head home a beautifully flighted free kick from Graham French.

Spencer Roberts forced the keeper to make a great save with a thunderous shot from the right wing.

In the second half Mason hit the post right within a minute of the restart.

On the left wing Edison Jeffery scored the goal of the game with riffled shot into the top corner. Shades of one of his goals against Times club last season.

After missing a prime opportunity in the first half, Harrison was on hand to make no mistake when the keeper parried a shot from Mason who was on a hatrick.

Pete Farr later replaced Harrison, Farr also had a couple of shots on goal.

With twenty minutes to go, Lander replaced Pearson in midfield and Scott Jenkins replaced Spencer Roberts on the wing.
