Lion's 3 v 3 Emperors Head

Lion's starting eleven: Brian, French, Hill, Griffin(C), P.Farr, D.Dye, O.Mason, J.Mason, Canning, Pearson, Harrison

This was the Lion's first game of 2010 and unfortunately went one nill down early on to Emperors Head when the forward got a toe to the ball before the Breachwood Keeper could catch a lofted ball over the top.

Lion's managed to get on level terms when Harrison beat the off side trap from Pearsons pass to slot the ball pass The Emperor's keeper at the second attempt.

Great movement between the Mason brothers and Dan Dye led Breachwood to having several more shots from distance to test the keeper.

Defensively the Lions were strong thanks to definative tackling from Ricky Hill.

Pete Farr linked well with Canning as Breachwood tried to push for the advantage before half time.

1-1 at half time.

Emperors Head regained the advantage after the break when the ball popped out to the edge of the Lion's area after a corner kick, the resulting shot went through a sea of bodies past the unsighted Breachwood keeper for 1-2

Graham French took a free kick just inside the Emperors half, that was flicked on by Harrison to James Mason whose one touch found brother Ollie to slide the ball home to bring the scores level at 2-2

Rob Pearson had been exploiting space on the right wing all game but it was Hills long rang pass down the right that Ollie Mason latched onto to give the Lion's the lead for the first time in the game.

Ten minutes later the scores where level again when Breachwood failed to clear a counter attack.

Scott Jenkins replaced John Griffin in Defence and Ali Collins replaced Harrison.

With minutes remaining Ollie Mason nearly got his hatrick and the points for the Lion's but his close range shot was straight at the keeper.

So anther draw for Breachwood at 3-3.

James Mason was man of the match for tireless running and tackling in the midfield
