Broadhall Reserves 4 v 2 Lion's

Lion's starting eleven: Routledge, Hill (C), French, P.Farr, Lander, Milligan, J.Mason, Jenkins, Batt, Canning, O.Mason

Despite a promising start from Breachwood, with early chances for Canning and Mason, the Lion's went a goal behind to goal headed at the far post.

Nathan Batt had a promising run cutting in from the left taking on two or three players.

Pete Farr had the confidence to bring the ball out of defence for a long range shot.

Breachwood got back into the game with a promising attack, Lander kept the pressure on with header back into the fray. Ian Canning scored a superb individual goal, a great first touch helped him round a couple of players before tucking the ball inside the far post from eighteen yards.

The Lion's took the game to Broadhall, whilst French & Hill kept things simple in defence. Goalkeeper Brian Routledge was a match for anything Broadhall could throw back.

Breachwood took the lead when Karl Milligan, spotted the Broadhall keeper off his line and calmly lobbed him from just outside the centre circle.

Breachwood led 2-1 at half time.

In the second half Broadhall Reserves threw everything at Breachwood. Routledge saved the Lion's several times at close range. Broadhall had a succesion of corners and freekicks, especially when Routledge handled just outside the box.

The Lion's tried to get some light relief from the pressure with some fresh legs up front, Ali Collins replaced Batt and Harrison replaced Jenkins who had battled hard all game on the right.

John Griffin replaced Pete Farr. A tired Breachwood tried to hold on for the win but Broadhall equalised on 91 minutes and then took all the points with two more goals in another five minutes of injury time. The Fat lady sang in favour of Broadhall. Final score 4-2

Lion's Man of the Match: Goalkeeper Brian Routledge for magnificent saves keeping Breachwood in the match until injury time.
