Collins Returns With A Brace Lion's 4 v 1 Emperors Head

Lion's starting eleven: Harrison, French, J.Mason, Hill, Fildes,Dye,A.Jefferies, D.Jefferies, Taaffe,Hansen,Collins

Ref: K.Trever

A strong start from Breachwood with Adam Jefferies threatening the Emperors defence on the right wing. Ali Collins playing his first game of the season, dragged a couple of shots wide. However midway through the first half Dan Jefferies and Richard Taaffe won tackles in midfield to put the ball through to Collins who shook off two defenders before firing low into the net for one nil.

Emperors Head pushed for an equaliser before half time but were frustrated with some solid defending from Mason, Hill Fildes and French.

However early in the second half, Emperors Head equalised when their forward found space from a knock down and was then able to fire a low shot into the corner of Harrison's goal.

Collin's scrambled the ball over the Emperors Head goal line from an Adam Jefferies cross but was ruled offside. However minutes later Breachwood won a free kick 30 yards out. Collins lifted the ball over the wall and under the bar to re-instate the Lion's lead at 2-1

It was game over when Taaffe scored in his third game in a row with a header from Hansens cross followed by Dan Jefferies dribbling into the penalty box to slot the ball home.

Emperors Head had one late flourish but the Lion's defence held strong for a 4-1 win

Breachwood's man of the match Dan Dye playing his first since the May final and for great link play in midfield.
