Chequers started off the stronger on the two sides limiting Breachwoods efforts to a back heal from Dan Jefferies. Chequers second came after their forward beat the Lions defence a squeezed the ball home at the near post.
Simon Blundell replaced and injured Adam Jefferies.
The Lions finally managed to get their midfield game going with the wise head of Griffin. Breachwood pulled a goal back, when Graham French won the ball in defence, played the ball into the feet of Dan Jefferies who in turn moved the ball through to Ollie Mason to score from one on one with the Chequers Keeper.
Lions equalised with Richard Taaffe scoring his first goal for the club with a header from a Brendan Hansen corner.
Taaffe got his second with a well executed shot from a great sweeping pass from James Mason, despite off side claims from Chequers
Ollie Mason looked like he was going to score a second but the ref heard him say "leave it" as he collected the ball.
In the second half Hansen had a great chance to score but with a header going wide.
Dan Jefferies scored with a audacious lob of the Chequers keeper off his line from just inside the Chequers half to give the Lion's a 4-2 lead.
Charlie Anderson replaced an injured Ollie Mason.
With the rain starting to come down, Chequers came back into the game in the last fifteen minutes, they got back to 4-3 with a shot inside the area and then 4-4 from a shot that skidded off the greasy surface through a crowd of bodies and under the diving Lion's keeper Harrison.
With minute remaining Chequers got the win with a ball over the top to the edge of the Lions box and the forward scoring past the outcoming Lions goalkeeper.
Chequers won 5-4 with the Lion's gutted not to get any points.
