A1 Trophies 0 v 8 Lion's

Lion's starting eleven: M.Anderson, Fildes, French, R.Wharton, A.Jefferies, Blondell, J.Mason, Dye, Turkentine(C), D.Jefferies, Taaffe

Ref:D.Bailey

The game started with action at both ends. Dan Jefferies and Simon Blondell had shots from range. Richard Wharton had two headers wide from corners. A1 Trophies nearly got in with a couple of long balls into the danger zone. Breachwood's play seemed to flow a lot better when the James Mason and the combative Simon Blondell swapped wings.
Breachwood took the lead from a perfect James Mason corner for Richard Wharton power header into the net. The Lion's added a second after some rather neat play on the right with one touch passing between Adam Jefferies and the midfield putting Dan Jefferies one on one with the keeper for two nil.

Lions led two nil at half time.

Breachwood began to exploit space in the second half with some great movement, Dan Dye was the unsung hero anchoring the midfield, allowing Capt Turks and Dan Jefferies to combine with Richard Taaffe, then giving Dan Jefferies the chance to chalk up his second goal for 3-0

Adam Jefferies offered the outlet for continued pin point passes into the A1 Trophies penalty area earning him Man of the Match. More sublime passing allowed Taaffe to get onto the scoresheet with yet another brace, the first a great solo effort and his second captitalising on an awkward back pass with shot that the keeper got a hand too but couldn't keep out of the net. Dan Jefferies nailed his hatrick. Blondell was unlucky not to score after his persistence carved out a opportunity on goal. Richard Wharton also got a second goal from another corner, this time with a low shot. Capt Turks capped a great performance with a shot on the turn high into the A1 Trophies net for eight nil. As the goals went in, Andy Fildles and Graham French kept things calm at the back with the help of Dan Dye in midfield.

Pete Murrell replaced James Mason. A1 Trophies best chance brought an acrobatic save from Max Anderson on the Lion's goal tipping the ball over the bar. At the end Taaffes opportunity of a hatrick was thwarted by the reflexes of the A1 keeper.

Final score A1 Trophies 0 v 8 Lion's
