Lion's starting eleven: Drury, French, J.Mason, P.Farr, A.Potten, Turkentine(C), A.Jefferies, Griffin, Lewis, Canham, Taaffe.
Breachwood played in unfamilar Old Barclavians shirts, helping out the teams on the other Chells pitch who had both turned up in the same coloured kits, & the Lion's swapping shirts with one team to help them out.
Despite a couple of solid defensive clearences from Graham French,Breachwood went one nil down within the first ten minutes when a Coopers corner popped out to the edge of crowded players and the unmarked Coopers player hit the ball low into the Lion's net.
A few minutes later Pete Farr landed awkardly after jumping for the ball, twisting his ankle in the process which meant an early substitution, with George Harrison joining the game.
Breachwood began the process of getting into the game and starting to find feet with Capt Turks and John Griffin driving the midfield, and then for the attack to being able to find the space to whip in the crosses and force a sucession of corners. Harrison could of done better with one particular header. At the other end Goalkeeper James Drury was focused in the Lions penalty area to be alert to thwart any Coppers attacks.
Richard Taaffe pulled out wide on the left wing and crossed the ball to the far post, Harrison nodded it back into the space where Adam Jefferies steamed in to drill the ball home for 1-1
Before half time James Mason managed to carry the ball out of defence for a rampage forward but it was 1-1 at half time.
After the break Breachwood tried to capitalise on their momentum from the end of the first half with Griffin & Turks getting the ball moving. Coopers had a couple of dangerous spells, but nothing seemed ot phase full backs Adam Potten or the calm Scott Lewis.
Adam Jefferies played a clever ball over Coopers defensive line for Taaffe to run onto into the penalty area only to be fouled resulting in a penalty, Turkentine sent the Coopers keeper the wrong way to give Breachwood a 2-1 lead.
The game looked wrapped up when Harrison's headed flick on gave Taaffe a run on goal with a cool finish for a 3-1 lead.
However Coopers still had the fighting spirit with a great goal driven in from outside the box to keep the game interesting at 3-2.
Breachwood managed to recover some breathing space when Sam Canham who had been causing Cooper problems for most of the game down the right wing whipped in the sort of cross that centre forwards just love into that space in front of the six yard box, a small bounce tee'd up Taaffe to complete his trademark brace and a 4-2 Lion's lead.
As Coopers tried to get back into the game, with minutes remaining, there was no messing from Breachwood defenders Mason and Potten happy with John Smith style clearences into touch.
A great game between two competitive sides, with Breachwood winning 4-2
Lion's man of the match: the energetic James Mason
