Lions starting eleven: Harrison, French, J.Mason, A.Potten, A.Jefferies, Dye, Turkentine(C), Canham, Hanson, Taaffe, Collins.
Today was a rare occassion that Breachwood had two of their proven goalscorers in the same starting line up in Richard Taaffe & Ali Collins which gave the Lions a two goal lead after fifteeen minutes. After a couple of successive corners Canham and Turkentine took a short corner, a swift one two lead to a cross along the six yard line for Taaffe to poach for one nil. The second goal was a diagonal midfield pass to the far post, where Alin Collins used his strength to hold off the defender before converting the ball past the Coach goalkeeper to give Breachwood a two nil lead.
Coach got back into the game putting defender James Mason under pressure causing his clearence to find the wrong side of the post and a own goal for 2-1. Coach then managed to swipe a 2nd goal inside the far post of the Breachwood goal for 2-2.
Adam Potten gave the Lion's brief respite storming out of defence with ball and setting up an attack but the ball was finding itself back in the Breachwood half far too often. With the momentum in the game Coach & Horses tucked away two more goals before Brendan Hanson was pulled down in the Coach Penalty area. Ali Collins stroked home a cool penalty to leave the score at 4-3 to Coach at half time.
In the second half Breachwood were unable to find the right gear to get back into the game and develop any sustained pressure on the Coach & Horses goal area. In return Coach seemed to find the extra space infront of the Lion's defence and then finding the Breachwood net a further three times.
John Griffin came on for Potten for the last fifteen minutes.
Final Score 7-3 to Coach & Horses, a disappointing result for the Lion's after such a promising start.
