Lion's starting eleven: Harrison, Hill, Fildes, J.Mason, A.Jefferies, Dye, Turkentine(C), D.Jefferies, Potton, Burnage, Taaffe
A promising start for the Lion's will all the play in the Emperor's half. Taaffes header hit the bar. Dye and Burnage combined to set up Dan Jefferies. Adam Jefferies put in a couple of useful crosses. Potton gave an attacking options on the left. Lion's had been unable to capitalise on their domination when Emperors Head counter attached with a shot rebounding from the Lion's post into the path of an oncoming forward to score for one nil. Griffin repaced Fildes. Moments later Emperor's Head got a second headed in from a corner. Emperor had time to score a third with a strike form range that Harrison got his hands too but couldn't keep out before Breachwood regained composure with a great run and pass from James Mason to put Taaffe in to slot the ball into the bottom corner of the Emperors net for 3-1. The Lion's began to rally to close the gap before half time but succumbed to a sucker punch with Emperor netting a fourth just before the break.
The second half saw a series of corners and free kicks at both ends. Burnages corner saw Dan Jefferies coming agonisingly close. Dye and Adam Jefferies found space to link with Burnage on the right. French replaced Potton. Griffin and Hill put in some telling tackles and Capt Turks earnt a man of the match performance filling in at centre back. A couple of time Taaffe looked set up for a run on goal only to be ruled off side.
With a goal less second half furstration got the better of the Lion's with a couple of yellow cards and James Mason sent off in the final minutes for a tackle from behind.
