Lion's 1 v 1 Nirankari Timebridge

Lion's Starting eleven: M.Anderson, French, Fildes, Hill, R.Wharton, Dye, A.Jefferies, D.Jefferies(C), O.Mason, Blundell, Taaffe
Ref: D.Wisson
An interesting start to the game with chances for both sides. Whilst Breachwood enjoyed some possesion, Nirankari seemed to pose the greater threat in the final third, with a cross that went over Anderson's head and fortunately hit the top side of the bar out of harms way. A succession of Nirankari corners led to Anderson showing a a range of punched clearences
Breachwood had the combatant Simon Blondell back on the left but Taaffe was having to drop back to link up with Dan Jefferies playing in the centre of midfield with brother Adam Jefferies today. Dan Dye made picking up the pieces look easy. Some timely vocal shouts from Andy Fildes offered a good outlet for Breachwood.
The deadlock was broken when after a harmless back pass to the Nirankari keeper was then passed back out only to be intercepted by the fearless Ollie Mason to sweep Breachwood into the lead.
Lion's led one nil at half time.
Nirankari were increasingly frustrated with the high line kept by Wharton,Hill & French to contain the threat. All the Lion's defenders were confident in the air to cope with the long ball from Nirankari.
Richard Taaffe pulled out wide to whip in cross to be met by a solid header from Ollie Mason destined for the top corner only to be denied by a great save from the Nirankari keeper turing the ball round the post for a corner.
The best Lion's move of the game came through the Breachwood midfield with Jefferies and Dye. Ollie Mason's back heal set up perfectly for Taaffe to strike from twenty five yards only to be equalled by a good save from the keeper.
With approx 20 minutes to go, Joel Mason was on side from a early midfield pass and able to shoot low past Max Anderson from inside the Lion's penalty area to level the scores at 1-1
Final Score 1-1 probably a fair reflection on the game.
Lion's man of the match Ricky Hill for great defending.
