With an ever growing injury list, a makeshift Lion's team took on Markyate in the County Cup. Whilst Breachwood we able to contain the early threat, Collins had limited opportunity up front. However half way through the first half Markyate converted a loose ball in the Lions penalty area for one nil. Shortly after Breachwood levelled through a Collins corner that was poked home by Taaffe. David Farr had a close effort on goal.

Early second half Markyate were gifted the lead through a poor Breachwood back pass leaving their forward an open net. They increased their lead through a deflected shot that went in off defender Graham French. Markyate were now 3-1 up.

Adam Jefferies played a diagonal ball over the the Makyate defence playing a high line, Ali Collins beat the off side trap before dinking the ball over the outcoming Markyate goalkeeper to keep Breachwood in the game at 3-2.
As a battle weary Breachwood pushed on trying to get back on even terms especially through the dogged determination of Sam Canham, the Lion's became vulnerable to the counter attack. With tired legs beginning to show Markyate scored twice again in the last ten minutes, the 5-2 scoreline slightly flattering the visitors from the other side of the airport.
