Lions v MBDA

Lion's starting eleven: Harrison, Lewis, Potten, Grench, Turkentine(C), Dye, A.Jefferies, Hansen, Mill, J.Mason, Paul

A patched up Lion's side face unbeaten League leaders MBDA.  Breachwood started in a positive spirit whilst MBDA showed their top of the table pedigree. Dan Dye was adept at turning defence into attack for Breachwood with support from Hansen at pivital moments.
Adam Jefferies curled a quality free kick from the edge of the box which looked destined for the top corner until Andy Gibbs hand turned the ball round the MBDA post at the last moment.
James Mason had a chance at goal after the Lions showed their pace down the right wing.
At the back Capt Turks lead a defensive formation with several strong headers as well as solid defending from Potten, French and Lewis .

Half time 0-0

In the second half MBDA made a change that gave them more of a threat up front.
Mike replaced Adam Potten in defence for Breachwood.
Breachwood nearly scored when a long range shot hit the bar and bounced down but was deemed not of crossed the line. But it was MBDA that broke the dealock with a shot going under the diving Harrison in the Lion's goal.
MBDA scored a second relatively quickly after an attempt at goal went in off the head of French and then off the head of Turkentine trying to make a desperate last gasp attempt of keeping the ball out of the net.
Another MBDA attack hit the Lions bar, the follow up shot was saved by the Lion's keeper but the loose ball was poked into the Lions net by MBDA for 3-0.
Breachwood were still defiant but threats to Andy Gibb's goal began to dwindle in the last fifteen minutes.
David Farr replaced Steve Mills for the Lion's
Another MBDA attack but this time Harrison pushed a drving shot over the bar.
In the last ten minutes MBDA scored twice more, one headed in under the bar from a corner and then the last was sweetly struck shot that Lion's goalkeeper couldn't prevent from going into the far side of the net.

Though MBDA won 5 nil, the scoreline masks a valiant Breachwood effort, particularly in the first half, from a patched up team suffering from injuries.

Lion's man of the match: Capt Turks.
